Several diseases (e.g. diabetes and cardiovascular disease) have been recognized as immuno-metabolic diseases. This refers to dysfunctional interplay between metabolic and immune systems. Students planning careers in the science, administration, or delivery of health will benefit by gaining a foundational understanding of immunometabolism and how it relates to disease.
