Description
Patterns of plant growth and development are explored with emphasis on the genetic, hormonal, and environmental regulation of developmental processes. Students analyze mechanisms underlying plant structure and life cycle transitions, compare developmental patterns across major plant groups, and evaluate the evolutionary basis of developmental strategies. Laboratory components incorporate live plant material and experimental approaches to develop and strengthen skills in experimental design, observation, data analysis and interpretation of developmental phenomena.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 222.
Note: BIOL 121 is recommended.
Note: Costs in addition to tuition will apply to this course.
