Description
This course explores the unique public health challenges and strengths of rural, remote, and Indigenous communities, with a focus on equity, cultural responsiveness, and community-led solutions. Students will examine the social determinants of health, geographic and infrastructural barriers, and the impacts of colonization on Indigenous wellness. Through case studies, policy analyses, and collaborative activities, the course emphasizes practical strategies for improving healthcare access, resilience, and culturally safe practices
Restriction(s): Must be enrolled in the Master of Public Health or PhD of Public Health Programs or received permission from the instructor.
